Nikolai D. Zhigadlo, PhD
Founder & Owner
Dr. Zhigadlo is the founder and owner of CrystMat Company based in Zurich, Switzerland. With over 35 years of experience in solid-state physics and materials science, he has held senior scientist positions at various prestigious universities around the world. This has resulted in valuable in-depth knowledge in the synthesis, characterization, and physical-property measurements of diverse inorganic materials. In 2003 he joined the laboratory for solid-state physics of ETH Zurich, to become a world-recognized expert in crystal growth under high pressure. Throughout his academic career, he has authored or co-authored over 220 peer-reviewed scientific publications and delivered more that 50 invited, keynote, and plenary lectures at various international scientific forums. The profound expertise in materials science and the desire to establish fruitful collaborations and partnerships have led him to found the CrystMat company.
